Start Walk 1 until first view of Circo de Gredos.

About this point you will be able to see the cairns marking the path up Cuento Alto to the south. If you haven’t done the walk to the Circo de Gredos and Laguna Grande it is well worth the short detour to continue on Walk 1 to the viewpoint and then return to pick up the path to Cuento Alto.

The path is not always clear, it is cairned but some have been lost in the broom. It basically follows the ridge towards Morezon with the peaks of the Circo to your right. Before the path starts to climb you will see the cairns and the path (marked by a large cairn) leading away from the Circo, skirting below Morezon towards Refugio del Rey, the manantiales (source lakes) of the Rio de las Pozas which are crossed by the Trocha Real (dry stone wall bridges).

Arriving at the Refugio del Rey and the Fuente continue from here with Walk 2 to return to the Plataforma.
